Paramedic Pancho Bajana Celebrates 20 Years of the FDNY High School
April 8, 2025The FDNY Exploring Program is heating up!
Recently, two dozen Explorers hit the FDNY Fire Academy for an action-packed day of training, from low visibility searches and subway operations to fitness drills and a look at lithium-ion battery safety.
Explorer Ismael Barcacer, now in his third year, shared, “My favorite part about being an Explorer is meeting people who have the same mindset as me. It definitely motivates me.”
First-year Explorer Matthew Clarke added, “What made me want to be an Explorer is that I’ve always wanted to be a firefighter. So, when I researched the program, I saw that it could teach me about being a firefighter and an EMT and that I could learn a lot about the Fire Department.”
