On this Flashback Friday, we’re catching up with former Proby of the Month Engine 15 Firefighter Michel-Victor Noel. Since being featured on Join FDNY in 2015, Noel continues to serve in Manhattan and has become an engine chauffeur.
“Every day is still unpredictable with this job and I still love it,” he said. “I had a couple of nozzle jobs over the years, but more recently, I had my first all-hands fire as a chauffeur back in May. I am extremely proud to put all the things we trained for to work and to help the city. The way I feel when I enter my firehouse now, it’s like going to my second home. It doesn’t feel like a job when you enjoy what you do.”
“To all of the candidates, no matter where you are in the hiring process, it’s good to stay active. Running is important and you have to stay physically fit. Stay patient, it’s all worth it,” he added.
